Travelling hand luggage-only? Here’s our guide to the best grooming products to pack into those pesky clear plastic bags!

Heading off for a nice long weekend in the sunshine over the next few months? Obviously you want to look and feel great while you’re away but if you’re going hand luggage-only how do you fit everything you need into those tiny little clear, plastic bags at the airport? Factor in that everything has to be 100ml or less and finding the best products to take away with you becomes much trickier. But fear not – help is at hand! We asked Ruffians Soho – Liberty barber extraordinaire and grooming product lover Craig Meggs to tell us his cabin bag grooming essentials!

Aesop lip balm £13 – 5.5ml

Lips always get forgotten but it’s really easy to get them burnt, you’ll need a high SPF (at least 30) to ensure that they don’t burn and go flakey. Regular applications means that your lips won’t dry out as it’s impossible to drink enough water.

Le Labo Another 13 Eau de Parfum £55 – 15ml

This is a must have fragrance for me and it’s such a handy size. This will do you a fair few mini breaks and is the perfect refreshing scent for that fresh feeling on or off the beach.

Ruffians Organic Argan Beard Oil £35 – 30ml

This is not only nourishing for the beard but if used sparingly it can feel amazing on your face/body if your skin is feeling a bit dry from the sun. This is also good for dry hair. Just massage a few drops through short damp hair, and a little more for longer hair.

Pixi Sun Mist £18 – 80ml

This seems like a large item but trust me. You will use it all up. It’s got spf 30 for your face and is super light to wear. I hate using creams on my face as it just greasy and I feel I get acne from all the pore blockage it causes. It’s also a refreshing cooling and soothing spray and can be used as and when you need it.

Piz Buin 1 Day Long Lotion £10 – 100ml

SPF 30 is a definite for the beach. I’ve used more expensive brands but always come back to Piz Buin. I feel like I’m not alone in saying that I’m all over using protection in the sun but throughout the day I get lazy with it. This stuff is amazing and your really don’t need to top up too many times. For me, I usually find I need to reapply if I’ve been swimming in the pool or sea.

Holland and Barrett Aloe Vera Gel £4.69 100ml

I only like to use gel on my skin after a day in the sun. It’s easier to apply and more soothing if you’ve had a little bit too much sun. Aloe has many healing properties to it. It’s perfect for dry or burnt skin from sun exposure. Refrigerate if possible too. Feels so good!

Malin and Goetz Body Essential Duo £10 – 30ml each

This is a good quality product and comes in the perfect size for a short trip. The ‘duo’ is a body wash and vitamin b5 body moisturiser. It smells amazing too – my personal favourite is the bergamot. Malin and Goetz also do a hair duo (shampoo and conditioner) at the same size and price too if you can fit it in!
